Alas, I'm still looking. Really interesting, well-written post. And now I want to read Middlemarch.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5767816.post-1141243025779659762006-03-01T14:57:00.000-05:002006-03-01T14:57:00.000-05:00An interesting post...Can't say I've ever had a Da...An interesting post...

Can't say I've ever had a David in my past, but having read this I almost wish I had!

So, have you read Middlemarch?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5767816.post-1141237382920107392006-03-01T13:23:00.000-05:002006-03-01T13:23:00.000-05:00My favorite literture teacher's favorite book was/...My favorite literture teacher's favorite book was/is Middlemarch.

I need to read it, too.

I think you probably think about David a lot because there wsn't closure. I used to have dreams about certain people in high school that I never found closure with.Raehanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15755307808583494663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5767816.post-1141229161423094702006-03-01T11:06:00.000-05:002006-03-01T11:06:00.000-05:00What a haunting post! He had such a profound affect on me in every aspect of my life: my drawing, my writing, my tastes in music and books, my appearance and self-esteem. I haven't seen or heard from him in 20 years. It's like he just disappeared off the face of the earth.

I often wonder... do the 'Davids' have such impressions on us because they are not in our lives, but instead loom larger than life in that gauzy haze we like to call memory? The James Dean phenomenon, that's what I like to call it.

I wonder what my 'David' is up to, too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
