Women, writing, etc

Highlights from an interview with Erica Jong, author of Fear of Flying, which I've never read:

  • If I were running a political movement today, I would focus on children and how parents are being screwed.

  • It's possible to be a writer, a mother and a wife, without necessarily killing yourself.

Oh, funny. I'm learning so much about you today. You've never read Fear of Flying; of course not. You're too young. It was the literary equivalent of The Valley of the Dolls, back in my day anyway. EJ was an 18th century lit professor...I forget where...but it was a seminal read. You should read it, if only to check out what we oldsters were up to in the seventies.
